THE BUSINESS PSYCHOLOGIST · MIND LOGISTICS

Training that builds real capability —
not just compliance.

Most workplace mental health training ticks a box. People sit through it, nod along, and walk out with no idea what to actually do when something goes wrong.

These programs are different. Built by a registered psychologist with 20 years across clinical, forensic, and organisational settings — and delivered in a way that makes people think, not just listen.

THE CASE FOR TRAINING

Your organisation has policies.
Your people need practice.

A mental health policy tells people what the organisation values. Training gives them the skills to act on it — especially in the moments that matter most.

A manager who doesn't know what to say when someone discloses won't say the right thing because there's a policy on the intranet. A team leader who has never been trained in occupational violence response won't manage the aftermath well because HR wrote a procedure.

The gap between having the right framework and having people who can operate inside it confidently — that's what this training closes.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Designed by a psychologist.
Delivered like one.

EVIDENCE BASED

Every program draws on clinical psychology, neuroscience, and WHS legislation — not motivational frameworks or generic wellbeing content.

SECTOR-AWARE

Tailored to the actual pressures of your industry — professional services, health, aged care, community services, emergency services, and government.

PRACTICALLY GROUNDED

Participants leave knowing what to do — specific language, clear processes, and the confidence to use them. Not awareness. Capability.

GENUINELY ENGAGING

Delivered by a psychologist who has worked in complex, high-pressure environments — and knows the difference between a training room and the real thing.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

Variety of programs. Every format designed to build what your team actually needs.

All programs available in-person and online, in formats from 90 minutes to full day. Can't find what you need? Every program can be customised for your sector and specific risk profile.

Managing Mental Health Disclosures at Work

PROGRAM 1

What to say, what not to say, and what your obligations are — in the moment that matters most.

When a team member discloses a mental health issue, most managers freeze, deflect, or overcorrect. None of those responses help — and some cause real harm. This program gives leaders and managers a clear, practical process for navigating mental health disclosures confidently: how to respond in the moment, what to document, when to escalate, and how to support someone without taking on clinical responsibility. Built around a practical if/then decision framework and grounded in the Just Culture approach.

PROGRAM 2

Performance Management as Psychosocial Risk

Deferred performance management isn't just a leadership failure. Under WHS positive duty, it's a psychosocial hazard.

Most organisations have performance management processes. Very few have leaders who understand what happens neurologically when those conversations go wrong — or why avoiding them creates a risk that sits on nobody's register. Using the SCARF model (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, Fairness), participants learn why performance conversations trigger threat responses, how deferred or avoidant management creates cumulative psychosocial harm, and how to build a performance culture that is both accountable and psychologically safe. Grounded in the Just Culture framework and WHS positive duty obligations.

Particularly effective as a follow-on from a Psychosocial Risk & Protection Review — when the risk has been identified, this program builds the capability to address it.

PROGRAM 3

Confident Conversations

A 90-minute session for leaders who know the conversation needs to happen — and keep finding reasons not to have it.

Most leaders don't avoid difficult conversations because they don't care. They avoid them because the last one went badly, or because they don't know how to have it without triggering a defensive response, a disclosure, or a grievance. Confident Conversations gives leaders a practical framework using the SCARF model — understanding why these conversations feel threatening, how to reduce the threat response before it derails the conversation, and how to approach difficult topics with genuine curiosity rather than defensiveness or avoidance.

Fast. Practical. High impact. Designed to be delivered in a single session without requiring a full day out of the business.

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR

A registered psychologist who has worked on all sides of this.

Tenneile Manenti is a registered psychologist with more than 20 years of experience across clinical, forensic, and organisational psychology, including senior leadership roles in emergency services.

She has designed and delivered psychosocial risk training for national security clients, built integrated mental health strategies for complex volunteer-based workforces, led large-scale leadership and safety culture programs across multiple countries, and treated the clinical consequences of systems that got this wrong.

That combination — administrator, clinician, facilitator — is what makes this training different. She is not teaching theory. She is teaching from the rooms she has actually sat in.
