THE BUSINESS PSYCHOLOGIST
You're looking after everyone. Who's looking after you?
The Business Psychologist is Tenneile Manenti's specialist work with founders, practice owners, and senior leaders — combining registered psychology, organisational expertise, and real business experience to support the humans running organisations.
The person running the organisation is usually the least looked after person in it.
You hold the decisions. You carry the risk. You manage everyone else's pressure — and you do it while managing your own.
And most of the support that exists out there wasn't built for someone like you. Coaching doesn't go deep enough. Therapy doesn't understand the business context. HR is for your people, not for you.
The Business Psychologist exists at that gap.
You don't need someone to tell you to delegate more or practise self-care. You need a registered psychologist who understands what it actually costs to run something — and can work with you at that level.
This is not wellbeing. This is performance, sustainability, and organisational psychology — applied to the human at the top.
HOW PEOPLE COME TO THIS WORK
There's no single reason someone reaches out.
Most leaders arrive at one of three places. All three are the right place to start.
SOMETHING'S WRONG
You know something needs to change. You're just not sure what.
You're exhausted in a way that sleep doesn't fix. You're leading well on the outside and running on empty on the inside. The business is fine. You're not sure you are.
This is the most common entry point — and the one most leaders wait too long to act on.
BUILDING SOMETHING
You're scaling — and you want to build the culture and systems right from the start.
You've seen what poorly designed organisations do to people. You want to build something that performs without depleting the humans inside it — including yourself.
Prevention is always cheaper than recovery. This entry point is the most underused.
HIGH FUNCTIONING, BUT
Everything looks fine from the outside. Inside, there's a cost you're not talking about.
You're performing. You're delivering. And there's a version of you that only you know about — the one that's been carrying more than is sustainable for longer than is wise.
High-functioning distress is the most expensive category of risk — and the hardest to see from inside it.
WHAT THIS WORK IS BUILT ON
Three positions. One clear point of view.
These aren't just talking points. They're the observations that drive every piece of work — and every conversation.
01
Leaders are the most unmanaged psychosocial risk in most organisations.
Every risk register accounts for the team. Almost none account for the person running it. Leadership load, decision fatigue, and responsibility weight are real hazards — and they almost never appear on a risk register.
That's not a personal failing. It's a governance gap.
02
High-functioning distress is invisible on most risk registers — and it's the most expensive.
The leaders most at risk are usually the ones nobody is worried about. They're performing. They're present. They're holding everything together. Until they're not.
Invisible risk doesn't stay invisible. It just waits until it's expensive.
03
Professional services firms are being assessed with the wrong tools.
The frameworks were built for physical industries. They don't account for the specific hazards of running a law firm, a medical practice, or a financial advisory business — where the risks are cognitive, relational, and identity-based.
Applying the wrong lens means you're managing the wrong problem.
AN IMPORTANT DISTINCTION
This is psychology. Not coaching.
The difference matters — not because coaching isn't valuable, but because some of what leaders are carrying requires clinical depth, not just strategic thinking.
THIS IS NOT
A business coach with psychology language
An HR consultant repackaged as advisory
A wellbeing vendor selling programs
A compliance consultant with a checklist
Someone who will tell you to delegate more and practise self-care
THIS IS
A registered psychologist (AHPRA PSY0002266792)
20+ years across clinical, forensic, and organisational settings
Someone who has managed workers' compensation at an organisational level — and navigated the system personally
Psychology applied to the human running the organisation — not just the organisation itself
Upstream. Before the harm, before the claim, before the collapse.
HOW WE WORK TOGETHER
Three ways to engage.
All work begins with a free Discovery Call. From there, the engagement is shaped around what you and your organisation actually need.
ENTRY POINT

Sense-checking before deeper work
Clarity on where risk is highest
First step into organisational work
"I can sense that something's not right — I just don't know exactly what it is or how serious it is."
The Scan gives you that picture — quickly, clearly, and without committing to a full review before you know whether you need one.
CORE SERVICE
Practice Risk & Protection Review™
"I need to understand what's actually happening in this practice — and I need it documented properly."

Full risk assessment and report
Governance and compliance purposes
Organisations ready for the full picture
Your Business Psychologist™
"I want someone who understands the business and understands me — not just when something goes wrong."
This is the ongoing relationship — quarterly advisory or retained engagement. Psychology applied to the human running the organisation, not just the organisation itself.
A retained relationship with a registered psychologist — for practice owners and leaders who want someone in their corner as the organisation grows and as they lead through complexity.

Founders and practice principals
Proactive rather than reactive support
Leadership psychology + organisational advisory

ABOUT TENNEILE
The psychologist behind The Business Psychologist.
Tenneile Manenti is a registered psychologist (AHPRA PSY0002266792) with more than 20 years of experience across clinical, forensic, and organisational psychology.
She has managed health and safety, psychosocial risk, mental health, and workers' compensation at an organisational level — navigated the system personally as a family member — and now works clinically and organisationally with the individuals and practices caught in between.
She is not an endorsed organisational psychologist. She is a registered psychologist who specialises in workplace psychology, psychosocial risk, and the psychology of leadership — and she brings genuine clinical depth to work that is too often handed to consultants without it.
The Business Psychologist is her answer to a gap she kept seeing: founders and leaders who were highly capable, visibly fine, and privately running on empty — with nowhere that was actually built for them.
