Trauma or PTSD From Work?

For clients carrying unresolved critical incidents, cumulative exposure, or operational stress, I also offer structured EMDR therapy via Telehealth.

EMDR helps the nervous system process trauma that hasn’t had space to resolve.

WHEN IT'S MORE THAN JUST WORK STRESS

For the professional navigating a particularly loaded chapter.

There's a specific kind of pressure that builds when the demands of work collide with significant change in the rest of life — at the same time. Not one thing. Several things. All at once.

This tends to happen most acutely in midlife. Not because midlife is a crisis — that framing is unhelpful — but because it's a genuine convergence. Peak career load, leadership responsibility, business ownership, and significant physiological and relational change have a habit of arriving in the same five-year window.

When they do, ordinary work stress strategies stop being enough. The pressure isn't just coming from work. It's coming from the whole system.

You're carrying more than one load

The professional load. The personal load. The identity question underneath both. Each one is manageable on its own. Together, they compound in ways that aren't always easy to name — let alone address.

The body is part of the picture

Physiological change — in sleep, energy, concentration, emotional regulation — can amplify pressure that would otherwise be manageable. This is clinical territory, not weakness. And it's worth naming it for what it is.

High-functioning doesn't mean fine

Most people in this position are still performing. Still delivering. The systems around them register nothing unusual. That's what makes it hard — the gap between how things look and how they actually are.

You don't need to be in crisis

The most useful time to do this work is before the wheels come off. Many people come when they're functioning but exhausted — and quietly aware that the current pace is not sustainable.

This is the kind of work I do most. Not because I designed a niche for it — because it kept showing up in the room. The high-functioning professional who'd been carrying too much for too long, in too many directions at once. If that's where you are, you're in the right place.

Not sure if therapy is the right step yet?

What We Do Together — Practical, Collaborative Support

Sessions are:

  • Structured but flexible

  • Focused on what is most relevant in your real life

  • Grounded in evidence-based psychology — not generic advice

Some sessions are reflective.

Others are skills-based. Often we blend both — depending on what you need and where you’re at.

Prefer Telehealth — Simple, Effective, Flexible

✓ Attend from home, your office, or anywhere private
✓ 50-minute sessions that fit into real working lives

Why This Matters — The Difference Here

You’re not just another appointment — and this isn’t generic therapy.

Here’s how we work:

  • Tailored to your real life — not “off-the-shelf” programs

  • Blends evidence-based psychology with real-world leadership and systems experience

  • No pressure to commit beyond what feels right for you

  • Understanding the psychology of work stress, high performance, burnout

You won’t need to explain high-pressure systems — I understand them.
This is psychology with a human heart — grounded in clarity, confidence, and forward movement.

Experienced Psychologist for high performers.

Questions You Might Be Carrying — Addressed with Care

Do I have to be in crisis to see a psychologist?
Not at all. Many people come because they’re tired of coping and ready for clarity and support.

What if I don’t know what to talk about?
That’s okay — we’ll start where you are.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Frequency is decided together.

Can I use Medicare or WorkCover for telehealth psychology?

Yes — Medicare rebates may be available with a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, and WorkCover support depends on your claim status.

Fees & Rebates (Transparent & Respectful)

  • Individual Telehealth Psychology Session (50 min): $230

THE BUSINESS PSYCHOLOGIST

Running a business or leading a team? There's a pathway for that too.

Sometimes what starts as personal pressure has an organisational dimension. The stress isn't just yours — it's structural. It lives in how the business is designed, how the team is functioning, or how risks in your organisation are going unmanaged.

The Business Psychologist works with founders, practice owners, and senior leaders at exactly that intersection — where your psychology and your organisation's risk profile meet. If that sounds like your situation, it might be the more useful starting point.

Ready when you are.
